It’s not F1, it’s F4…” This is an animation that depicts a very minor world.

My initial first impression was this.

In these days when it is sometimes whispered that young people are turning away from cars, and few young people even know about F1 (automobile racing category), I wonder if there are young people, elderly people, and anime fans who are willing to watch .

This is something I have to actively watch as an anime and automobile enthusiast!

A mysterious sense of mission was awakened.

When I finally looked at it, the first thing I noticed was that the “manufacturers and sponsors” were depicted with their actual, real names.

Up to now, racing animations have imitated manufacturer logos or fudged manufacturer names.

I’m not sure if it’s a consideration, but frankly I thought it was an element I didn’t need.

But this “Overtake!” is refreshingly free of such elements.

The use of CG in animation in its entirety is sometimes controversial among animation connoisseurs.

In this “Overtake! seems to make active use of computer graphics, and the course seems to be traced from an actual race track.

The cars’ movements, as well as the ratio between the track and the cars, are so accurately reproduced that there is no sense of discomfort at all, and it is almost as if it were a real race.

I think both have their advantages and disadvantages, but this “Overtake!” seems to have chosen CG.

The story is about the main character, Haruka Asahina (high school student), who aims to stand on the podium.

With no hesitation in taking action and mental strength, we will keep pushing forward.

The story so far is a common story in sports anime.

But here comes photographer Koya Madoka.

He was traumatized, lost and depressed.

The cause of the trauma is also sensitive and is likely to be discussed and struggled with in the creation of the animation.

In creating the animation, you must have had a strong desire to convey the message to the viewers!

The story progresses in a two-part series with Madoka, the second main character (in my opinion), and the human drama-like story adds depth to the story.

There are two elders, Futoshi Komaki and Kyosuke Ena.

They used to be members of the same team as Asa Hina.

We will be there for the young people, guiding and inspiring them.

Impression (OP theme song “Tailwind”)

The clear voice and moderate rhythm of this song are pleasant.

I was curious as to who was singing the song, so I looked it up and found it was YouTuber Kanae.

The singing voice purified my heart.

It was like the dirt in my heart was being blown away.

At the end

There are other people who have also been seduced by the charms of F4, which we have not been able to fully introduce here.

Each person has his or her own feelings, and they clash and conflict with each other.

The technical knowledge specific to car racing is told in an easy-to-understand manner in the story, so zero knowledge is sufficient for enjoyment.
