This blog is a continuation of “NewGlasses(Part1))[blog140]” that I wrote last time.
Heading to the optician
After completing the eye health examination at Kitagawa Eye Clinic, we head to the optician with the “prescription for glasses” in hand.
The optician is a mysterious optician (personal impression) that has been on my mind for a long time.
What’s so mysterious is that without the sign, you wouldn’t even know it was an optician’s shop because it’s a stylish building.
I used to work in the construction industry, so I have a tendency to go into buildings that interest me.
Megane Kobo Rin (Optometry Workshop Rin)
The store “Megane Kobo Rin” is in a fashionable building with a mix of Japanese and Western architecture, which is peculiar to the Taisho Era.
Since the building is unique on the outside, it is naturally stylish on the inside as well.
The store has a relaxed atmosphere with indirect lighting, and you will be welcomed by unique glasses.
The glasses seem to be mainly domestic products, especially frames “made in Fukui Prefecture” as s products.
At this point in time, I was not aware of the quality of the glasses, but later on, every time I used the glasses, I was able to feel the quality of the glasses more and more.
Store clerk
When I told the clerk about my requirements, he picked up several pairs of glasses for me.
The glasses I want are round and rimless.
Then, I was introduced to a pair of glasses that met my requirements, and also to a pair of glasses that were inspired by the sales clerk.
The same shape of glasses can look completely different with different colors, so I’m in a quandary .
I think I spent quite a long time there, but he carefully explained the features of each pair of glasses.
I appreciated that there were several mirrors in the store and that they actually let me hang it.
We looked at the overall impression of the face in a nearby mirror and checked the full body impression at a slight distance.
Little by little, we narrowed it down, and it took a long time, but we narrowed it down to one.
And this is the end of the process of choosing frames for glasses, but I also spent a lot of time choosing lenses. (Again, there is a wide variety…)
