Gokan Castle Ruins Park Sakura
Gokan Castle is a castle that existed during the Warring States Period.
Today, the castle ruins are maintained as a park in Annaka City, Gunma Prefecture.
It is an old medieval castle that was designed for actual battles.
It stands on a hill overlooking the city and is reached by climbing a steep path.
The castle is also designed to repel enemy invasion.
Even if you are a tourist without knowledge of the castle, you will be guided to enjoy the ruins of the castle.
Road to Gokan Castle Ruins Park
Cycling is recommended.
From the red line to the park parking lot, there is a severe uphill climb, so you can enjoy a petit hill climb.
Just be careful to refill your water supply, as there are no vending machines in the park (as of March 2022).

West San-no-kaku – Ascending road to the main citadel
I am a “Ninja”, a guide, that I am. Pleased to meet you!
Now, the picture is the ascent from the parking lot to the main gate.
By ninjutsu I am heading up from the sky.
You can see all over the park while climbing up, so you all should enjoy it.
inner citadel
The rows of cherry trees in the western part of the castle, as seen from the main gate.
Mount Myogi and Mt. Asama can be seen in the distance.
The castle was built in the Middle Ages, so it has a strong slope.
This makes it a great place for photography.
east wall
This is the view from the east wall looking up at the large cherry tree in the main citadel.
It is dusk and the atmosphere is lonely.
It was a good time to sneak in, though.
East wall – stairs down to Ninomaru
These are the stairs from the east wall to Ninomaru.
As you can see, it is a steep slope and a structure that does not allow people to pass each other.
As you can see from the slope on the right, you can shoot as many arrows as you want from the east wall and the main citadel.
Samurai climb in swarms to attack the castle.
Shoot the Samurai near the entrance and exit of the stairway. If you can prevent them from retreating, you will be able to eliminate them efficiently.
Ninomaru-South wall
This is a view of the path from Ninomaru to the south wall.
Although cobblestones and walls do not exist, the topography of the castle still retains the structure of a strong castle ruin.
The castle Ruins is still in good shape.
Recently, beautiful castles have been attracting attention, but I believe that old castle ruins from the Middle Ages are rare and valuable.
I hope you will all take a close look at them!
Good luck!
