As I mentioned in my previous blog …

This Golden Week, I had a personal “eye checkup” & “new glasses”!

(Golden Week -> Long Vacation in Japan)

So, this blog is “my event”, new glasses (part 1)

Presbyopia awakens

My presbyopia started to awaken around 3 years ago (age 45).

At first it was “It’s hard to focus when looking at close up…

Still, when I was conscious of putting effort into my eyes, I was able to get a reasonable focus.

(Now it’s impossible.)

Three years after my awakening, I began to have trouble living and decided to get a new pair of glasses for the first time in my life.

ophthalmology

When I was a child, I often had eye problems and went to the eye doctor.

I have a vague recollection that I was suffering from a disease that made my eyes water and my eyes mist.

I was not so much as to use glasses, but my nearsightedness was caught in a vision test at school, and I had to go to the hospital for treatment.

So, I decided to go to Kitagawa Ophthalmology, a local ophthalmologist with whom I was familiar.

This will be my first visit in 30 years!

Kitagawa Ophthalmology (Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture [in the former Gunma Town])

I headed there without an appointment and failed to…

The moment the door opened and I peeked into the hospital, I felt the urge to “MoonWalk” (step back)!

If it weren’t for my jelly-like strength of will, I would have headed straight home.

As you can imagine, it was extremely crowded. All the waiting chairs were filled, and an estimated 50 people were sitting and waiting like Shaolin monks.

I’m guessing why it’s so crowded, but this ophthalmologist is seeing a female doctor.

(He may not be there depending on the department and date of examination.)

And is this a woman’s point of view? There is also a baby room

Perhaps because of this, the majority of patients are women and children.

There are other reasons why it is so crowded.

If you bring your glasses with you, they will measure them to make sure they are within the specifications of your glasses prescription.

Even if the medical treatment is correct, if the glasses are not up to standard, it doesn’t matter.

It takes longer to see a doctor, but the peace of mind is excellent!

So, even if you do zazen and reach the state of enlightenment, waiting is not a hardship.

Results of my medical treatment

The results of the clinic are as follows.

1) No cataract or glaucoma

2) Recommendation to see the doctor again when the glasses no longer fit as presbyopia awakening will continue to progress gradually.

3) There are signs of the opening of the “third eye (eye of enlightenment)” (100% distortion of the blog)

In these days of overuse of the eyes, how about an eye health checkup for everyone?

Kitaro’s eyeball father also recommends it, waving his hand from a bowl of hot water!
